Six characteristics of melamine foam: 

①High flame retardancy: it can reach GB 8624-2006 standard B-s2, d0, t2 without adding any flame retardant

(equivalent to the German DIN 4102 B1 level and the American UL 94-96 V-0 high flame retardant material standard.) After contact with an open flame, a dense coke layer is formed on the surface of the combustion body to retard the combustion, no smoke, no dripping , does not burn, self-extinguishing away from fire.

② Noise reduction and sound absorption ability: Its open porosity of more than 95% enables sound waves to easily and quickly enter the interior of the foam body and convert the vibration energy into the grid, which is consumed and absorbed, and the reflected waves are quickly reduced.

③Good thermal insulation: Its porosity is as high as 95% or more, and the three-dimensional grid structure can effectively block the convective heat transfer of air.

④High temperature resistance: suitable for long-term work under the working conditions of 200-240 °C, no volatilization and deformation below 400 degrees.

⑤Low bulk density: The bulk density of the product is 8-16kg/m³, which is one of the lightest foamed plastics in the world.

⑥ Sanitation and environmental protection: Its stable chemical structure and cross-linking system make it have unique chemical stability, which fully meets the national green environmental protection standards in the fields of interior decoration, daily necessities, and noise reduction of vehicles.

Melamine foam is widely used in office and household cleaning in developed regions and countries, and is called “magic wipe” and “magic foam” by multinational daily necessities giants. In addition, because of its flame-retardant and sound-absorbing properties, it is also widely used in automobiles, trains, ships, airplanes, construction venues and other fields.

Main properties of melamine foam

1) Sound absorption performance

Since the melamine foam is composed of a three-dimensional mesh open-cell structure and a high open cell rate (open cell rate is as high as 99.9%), the sound wave can easily and effectively enter the deep layer of the foam body, transform into the vibration of the grid and be consumed and absorbed, and at the same time Can effectively eliminate reflected waves. Melamine foam has excellent sound absorption performance in a wide range of sound frequencies, especially in the absorption of low-frequency noise. The sound absorption coefficient reaches 0.85~1.07.

2) Flame retardant properties

Because melamine foam is made of melamine (melamine itself is a flame retardant), so melamine foam can meet the following standard requirements without adding any flame retardant or other additives: B1 low flammability material specified by German DIN4102 Standard; American Insurance Association UL94-V0 class high flame retardant material standard; EU BS 6853, NF F16-101, DIN5510 fire certification; Chinese national standard GB/T8624-2006 Class B (flammable) flame retardant standard.

The excellent flame retardant properties of melamine foam are manifested in three aspects:

a) Rapid carbonization: no flame is formed in contact with an open flame, no dripping occurs, the surface is immediately carbonized, oxygen is isolated, and the reaction speed is slowed down;

b) Stop immediately after leaving the fire: once the open fire leaves, the foam will stop burning immediately, no sparks and no re-ignition;

c) Low density of smoke: smoke is the main factor of personal injury in fire.

According to the test,the smoke density grade of melamine foam is less than 15, which is much lower than that of common similar foam materials, such as flame retardant polyurethane foam smoke density grade less than 75 (national standard GB/T8627-2007 GB/T 8627- 2007 Test Method for Smoke Density of Combustion or Decomposition of Building Materials).

3) Thermal insulation performance

The three-dimensional network structure of the melamine foam can effectively prevent the convective heat transfer of the air, so that the melamine foam has an excellent thermal insulation effect. At the same time, the good thermal stability of melamine foam also provides a guarantee for thermal insulation. Melamine foam is a thermosetting foam with a highly reticulated cross-linked structural system. Compared with traditional polyethylene, polypropylene and polyurethane foam materials with a lower degree of cross-linking, it has higher thermal stability and aging resistance. , can work stably in the temperature range between -180 ℃ to 200 ℃ for a long time, and can withstand high temperature of 240 ℃ for a short time.

4) Lightweight and energy-saving performance

The bulk density of melamine foam is only 8-16kg/m3, which is one of the lightest materials in the current foam; it can be foamed to produce foam of specific density and color according to the requirements of use; it meets the requirements of energy saving and emission reduction. Green environmental protection needs.

5) Hygiene and safety performance

The stable chemical structure and cross-linked body of melamine foam make it have unique chemical stability, and it is non-toxic, odorless, fiber-free and powder-free, and its hygiene can meet the requirements of food hygiene level. It is widely used in the fields of electronics industry, interior decoration and transportation.

6) Reprocessing performance

Melamine foam can be processed into various required shapes by cutting, cutting, spinning and other mechanical processing and hot pressing; at the same time, the foam body can be easily compounded with various materials to form a series of products such as sound absorption, heat preservation, and heat insulation, such as aluminum foil. , Adhesive, waterproof and oil-proof treatment, can meet the various needs of different occasions and working conditions.

Processing technology

1) Surface treatment

Melamine foam has excellent chemical resistance. It can be sprayed, painted, glued, solution, resin, bacterial culture, etc. on the surface of melamine foam, which can directly contact melamine foam without changing its physical and chemical properties.

2) Water and oil repellent treatment
